HISTORY
Jangkar was inspired by the life journey of a seafarer, Mr. HW, who spent much of his time at sea to provide for his family. The name “Jangkar,” meaning “anchor” in Indonesian, was chosen because we believe that—just like an anchor holds a ship steady and keeps it from drifting—coffee can be a grounding force in everyday life: a pause amid the busyness, a moment to slow down. Jangkar Coffee was created as a warm and calm stopover, a place where people can take a breath, share stories, or simply enjoy a quiet cup of coffee. We serve high-quality coffee sourced from local Indonesian farmers while building a space that is welcoming, inclusive, and consistent in both flavor and service. To us, coffee is more than just a beverage—it’s a way to foster connection: between people, between past and future, between faraway places and the feeling of coming home. In every step and every cup, Jangkar carries the spirit of balance: simple, honest, and strong.

Established on August 28, 2023, Jangkar Coffee & Eatery was created as a culinary and coffee destination that offers more than just food and beverages. Located in the heart of Tomohon City, specifically in Walian Village, it was born from a passion to create a warm, welcoming space full of stories and connection.

Jangkar’s interior blends elegant classic elements with modern minimalist touches. From wooden furniture that brings a natural feel to soothing warm lighting — every detail is carefully designed to create an atmosphere that is not only cozy and memorable but also aesthetically pleasing and Instagram-worthy.

At the heart of it all is coffee. We believe that a good cup of coffee has the power to bring people together, spark conversations, and accompany meaningful moments. That’s why we only use the finest selected coffee beans from across Indonesia, now roasted in-house through our own Jangkar Roastery.

Our menu features not only espresso and cappuccino but also a variety of signature Jangkar coffee creations, born from modern techniques blended with local flavors. We also serve a range of light bites and hearty meals, perfect for any time of day.
